Fork on the Road is back for 2014 with a lunch and dinner combination on Sunday January 19 2014 in the city.
Adelaide’s favourite feast – Fork on the Road – is returning to delight foodies on the same day as top cyclists hit the road for the People’s Choice Classic.
The city centre is the place to be on Sunday 19 January, with Fork on the Road set to kick off from noon at the corner of King William Street and War Memorial Drive.
More than 30 vendors featuring a range of savoury and sweet treats will be taking part in the first Fork on the Road for 2014.
Minister for Tourism Leon Bignell said the scene was set for a great afternoon by the river
“This year the People’s Choice Classic is taking place on a brand new circuit around the Torrens,” Mr Bignell said.
“The atmosphere is always fantastic as the world’s best cyclists head out for the first race of 2014 and we’re delighted the very popular Fork on the Road is also going to be part of the day.”
Fork on the Road – which is the largest and first regular gathering of food trucks in Australia – will run until 9pm and will also feature live music.
Fork on the Road founder Joe Noone said he was excited the next event would take part alongside the Santos Tour Down Under.
“Fork loves working in partnership, particularly with other great South Australia events, so the chance to showcase great South Australian food on wheels was logical.”
“We are very excited to start 2014 with a big bang and what a better way to do that on the banks of the Torrens for lunch or dinner so bring the family, your rugs and make a spectacular day of it.”
