Fork on the Road is about showcasing Adelaide’s Food Trucks, Vans, Carts and Bikes all in one location, making the food itself the attraction and the event. This takes the form of events or festivals, generally speaking monthly in the city, and expanding to once a month in other suburban locations. It’s about demonstrating how the spaces can be used differently, in a way that’s people friendly. It’s about helping entrepreneurs to trial new business ideas. It’s about showing-off the new hip-happenings in Adelaide, the new businesses that are being created, and new a burgeoning food culture that strives to make Adelaide that little bit more unique, cool and exciting. It’s about giving the opportunity to young musicians and entertainers to gain some exposure and perform their craft in front of a live audience.  Fork is also very much about community, both between the vendors and also with our audience, with a relationship that has been developed in part through social media.  We love seeking the feedback and input from our Forkers, who are great at assisting our desire to make every Fork unique and improve.

What started from one good idea that became the first Fork on the Road in Victoria Square in November 2012 ended up becoming, 8 events in the next 6 months in 7 locations in the city and inner city with over 45,000 people in total attending. Fork on the Road received great support from Splash Adelaide, a joint initiative of Adelaide City Council and the State Government and one of its more successful events in terms of attendance, buzz, media interest and satisfaction. The overall result of Fork on the Road has been amazing. We are now in our 7th season and are seeking to firmly establishing Fork on the Road on the events calendar in Adelaide.
